Green Entrepreneur:

Taiwan lags behind global energy decentralization trend, why investors are still willing to invest in Taiwan?

Kok-Leong TOH (PE Investor & Mentor of Green Impact Lab) :

I think Taiwan is part of this trend. This is still early days and as such it may not seem to be the case but the fundamentals are there. I like Taiwan for her business environment, good wind and solar resources and strong public view to promote renewable. The underlying trend I was referring is the belief that we can have electricity that does not hurt the environment. There is no longer a need to think about trade-off between economic growth and harm to the environment – we now can have both economic growth (therefore more demand for electricity) with little or no impact to the environment.
